Finally! Amazon Prime Day 2020 will take place in...

July or August or September or October… nobody knows.

Prime Day seems to be postponed another time. New timing should be beginning of October. What does the new date mean for merchants and brands?

For companies and brands dealing with Amazon, Prime Day is a very important shopping event which could create a sales uplift during the summer period (Europe). Nice sales push, especially for those product categories which are usually having a slight sales dip during this time.

A shift to October passes the Prime Day directly into the pre-Christmas season - the strongest sales period for many product categories.

Nice, but there is already another giant shopping event nearby – Black Friday by end of November.

For me it will be interesting to see if consumers are willing to spend similar amounts of money for two events in close succession compared to the past years.
